Blue Jacket Close-ups Part Eight

See the great triple V shape of the hem? That is, it's sort of... " \/'\/'\/ " shaped. The way that it comes up at the sides and down at the back and front was one of the most popular bodice styles in the 1850's and 60's. It looks like quite a dark blue online here, but it's actually quite vivid in real life. I love how although they're both shiny fabrics, the outside appears as quite 'matt' compared to that sort of 'wet' look to the silky lining of the jacket.
